TUTORS & STUDENTS MENTIONED IN

Why English decides it

The one subject you can't drop.

Every VCE student must sit English, and it always counts toward the ATAR. It is the subject that quietly decides whether your child reaches their course or falls just short, and there is no opting out of it. The only real question is whether they walk in prepared, or hope for a good day.

The exam date does not move. Every week without real feedback is a week the writing stays the same.

The problem

Working harder stops moving the score.

By Year 12 most students have already tried the obvious things. More reading. More practice essays. A tutor for an hour a week. The score barely moves. Here is why.

01

Feedback comes back too late.

A practice essay marked three weeks later can't fix the next one. The lesson is cold before it lands.

02

Writing from scratch under pressure.

Composing a top-band essay cold, in the exam room, is the hardest way to write.

03

One hour a week isn't a system.

A lesson can teach a text. It can't build the structure and reps that raise a score.

The Studio is built to fix all three.

The Studio

One system, three sections.

VCE English is really three skills. Learn each on its own track, built to work together.

The Principle

No matter how the words come on the day, the structure carries you.

Composing an essay from scratch under exam pressure is the hardest way to write. Build the writing in advance, when you are calm, and your worst day still follows a top-band structure.

Do the work, and the work pays.

In their words

What students say about David's teaching.

From students and parents David has taught one to one at TheCampus. The Studio runs on the same method, and the same fast feedback.

"I spent all of Year 11 hovering around 60% and couldn't work out what the assessors actually wanted. The change at TheCampus was David learning how I wrote best and teaching me how to structure my body paragraphs without them sounding clunky. By Term 3 I was consistently getting 90+ on my text response SACs, and I finished with a 43 study score I genuinely didn't think was possible for me."
Lucas M. Graduated 2025
"English was the one subject I was constantly stressing over because it felt so subjective. Having David walk me through high-scoring sample essays and show me the exact difference between an 8 out of 10 and a 10 out of 10 was a game changer. It took the guesswork out of writing."
Ethan K. Graduating 2026
"Went from a predicted low 30s to a raw 41 study score. The quote banks and David's breakdown for the Crafting Texts section gave me so much confidence going into the exam."
Chloe B. Graduated 2025
"The draft feedback was always turned around so quickly. Being able to submit an essay on Tuesday and have detailed line-by-line corrections back before my Friday SAC was invaluable."
Priya N. Graduating 2026
"What I appreciated most was that the feedback was super honest. I'd send off a draft thinking it was great, and David would send it back with red pen all over my topic sentences and thesis. It was always constructive, and fixing those specific habits before the exam made a huge difference."
Jian H. Graduated 2025
"Seriously saved my English grade. Section C was always my worst area, but David breaking down persuasive strategies by intent, instead of just spotting techniques, made everything click."
Sienna T. Graduating 2026
"English was causing our daughter a lot of anxiety at the start of the year. After a few weeks with David at TheCampus, her confidence shot up and she actually started enjoying the subject. Her final result was fantastic and helped her get straight into her top uni course."
Sarah & David K. Parent of 2025 Graduate
"We tried a large group tutoring centre during Term 1 and it felt too generic for what my son needed. Switching to one-on-one with David was night and day. Every lesson was tailored to his specific texts and his personal weak spots."
Rachel W. Parent of 2025 Graduate
"I used to panic in timed conditions and run out of time on the second essay every time. Working through timing strategies with David, and learning to outline an essay in under five minutes, saved me in the final exam."
Noah P. Graduated 2025
"My son was already averaging around 80%, but he wanted a 45+ for a competitive degree. David's high-level feedback and fine-tuning on his essay depth pushed his writing over the line."
Rajesh S. Parent of 2025 Graduate
"Finding someone who genuinely knows the VCAA criteria inside and out is hard. David's insight into how examiners mark, and what turns a decent essay into a top-tier one, made a world of difference for our daughter's results."
Elena G. Parent of 2025 Graduate
"Best decision I made in Year 12. I went into the three-hour exam feeling completely prepared instead of overwhelmed."
Marcus V. Graduated 2025

QUESTIONS

Questions parents ask.

Is this one-to-one tutoring?+

No. It is a self-paced learning system and a live community. If you already have a tutor, keep them. This is everything around it.
